and attribution/license notice. Input hashes are recorded in
src/data/city-search/source.json.

Adaptation by Athan for All: selected city, region, country and timezone fields;
normalized alternate names; grouped records by name prefix; serialized and
compressed into an offline city search index. The dataset contains 236,640
populated-place records. These changes are not endorsed by GeoNames.

The data is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a
particular purpose. City-center coordinates are approximate. This is a city index,
not an address directory. The CC BY 4.0 notice applies to this adapted dataset;
it does not change the license of unrelated application code.
