About the project
Athan for All is a personal, non-commercial project operated by Mohammed Moqbel in France. These terms cover the website, iOS and Android apps, widgets and companion watch apps. Contact: mqlabscontact@gmail.com.
The service provides prayer calculations, reminders, Qibla guidance, reading resources and optional personal records. It is free to access and use, with no account, subscription or purchase required. Your internet or mobile provider may charge for connectivity.
Using the app and website
You may use the service for personal purposes and share prayer timetables with their location, date and calculation context intact. Use it lawfully, respect other people’s rights, and do not disrupt the service, bypass security controls or present its calculations as an official mosque schedule.
The app is licensed, not sold. For copies obtained through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard app licence applies unless a valid custom licence is supplied through the store. These service terms supplement the applicable licence and do not override mandatory store rules or statutory rights. Third-party and open-source licences continue to govern their respective components.
Prayer times and religious information
Calculated times depend on location, date, timezone, calculation convention, school and selected adjustments. A city centre approximates your position. Daylight-saving changes and high-latitude conditions can affect results. Check your settings and compare them with the timetable you follow.
Calculated prayer times are not mosque congregation or iqamah schedules. The service does not issue religious rulings or guarantee that one convention matches every community. Hijri dates are approximate and do not declare the beginning of Ramadan, Eid or other observances. Consult your local mosque or a qualified religious authority where necessary.
Qibla readings depend on location, sensors, calibration and magnetic interference. Reading resources and translations include source information; translation coverage may be partial. Please report suspected errors so they can be investigated.
Reminders and companion devices
Reminders depend on notification permission, app settings, the operating system, battery restrictions and device state. Delivery, timing and sound are not guaranteed. Check your timetable directly if a reminder does not arrive.
Widgets and watches use saved schedules that can become outdated. Open the phone app regularly and after changing location or calculation settings to refresh companion schedules. A downloaded or shared timetable is a snapshot, not a continuously updated schedule.
Privacy and local records
The Privacy Policy explains device-only records, optional location, hosting, Sentry crash reports and support email. There is no account to close. You can stop using the service and remove local app data using the relevant app or device controls.
There is no operator-managed backup or recovery service for journals, bookmarks or reading progress. Device loss, removal of app data or changes to backups can affect those records. Removing the phone app does not necessarily erase watch copies or operating-system backups.
Content and external services
Original code, design and other original material are protected by their applicable intellectual-property rights. Third-party recordings, text, fonts, illustrations, data and software remain subject to their owners’ rights and licences. These terms do not grant rights the project does not hold or restrict permissions granted by an applicable open-source or content licence.
Website acknowledgements and the app’s About and source pages identify third-party material. External links are provided for reference. Their operators control their content and availability, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide useful, accurate tools but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or error-free calculations and content. Features may need correction, maintenance or discontinuation. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website when appropriate or legally required.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee that it meets every individual requirement. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Mandatory consumer protections and other statutory rights remain unaffected.
Applicable law and updates
French law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections applicable in your country of residence. These terms do not require arbitration or prevent claims before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Contact mqlabscontact@gmail.com to raise a concern or try to resolve a dispute.
Updated terms will carry a revised date, with material changes communicated as required. These terms are currently a publication draft; their effective date will be set when the publication checks are complete.
